Values…

What does it mean to have values as a noun? The usefulness of something. A person uses principles, judgments, and standards to determine what is essential in life. Values, as a verb, are how one evaluates the worth of something. It can also be based on your appreciation of what is important to you.
Values determine how a person acts. These values are how we decide how we act based on how we were raised, our culture, and what we feel is right or wrong.
What are core values? These are the ones that I have found online.
RESPECT: Treating others with kindness, dignity, and empathy.
ACHIEVEMENT: Striving for success and reaching goals.
COMMITMENT: Giving your time and energy to something and someone you believe in.
INTEGRITY: Being honest and trustworthy.
COMPASSION: Showing kindness and concern for others.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Taking responsibility for your actions.
Where are you using your values? At work, at home with family, in houses of worship, or within your community. What do we see as we look at the changes within our government at the federal, state, and local levels?
Our government policies are based on the ideas, values, morality, and judgment of the majority. Being of a minority group, it is often difficult to get our representatives in government to address our concerns. It seems as if we are not heard. My encouragement to everyone is to contact your representatives with your concerns. You should send your thoughts to all leadership regardless of party affiliation.
