It has been a busy summer for the team at Nine13sports! Our Kids Building Bikes Open Enrollment classes have continued here in the Building Bikes Lab and have seen more kids earn a brand-new bicycle, helmet, lock, and set of tools along with the skills to maintain, repair, build and ride their brand-new bike safely!
The program also aims to help instill lifelong employability skills like self-confidence, perseverance, teamwork, and much more. Many of these immersive learn and earn program graduates come from right here in the neighborhood, and we look forward to welcoming even more Near Northwest youth into this program for the rest of this year and beyond!

You also may have seen our team out in the neighborhood when we launched our Bike Camp initiative with our friends at Riverside Park this summer! The pilot program brought together Nine13sports, Indy Parks, IMPD's Youth Bike Initiative, led by Officer John Wall, Flanner House, the Major Taylor Velodrome, and Marian University, as well as the Team at Groundwork Indy for an Immersive set of blended bike programming designed to maximize fun and learning all through the power of the bicycle.
We are already looking forward to next summer and bringing Bike Camp back to our neighborhood here in the Near Northwest and communities across the city!
